The Endocrine System

The endocrine system is a system of small organs that inivolove the release of hormones.  The endocrine system regulates metabolism, growth, development and puberty, tissue function and also determines mood.  The endocrine system uses blood vessels as information channels.  Hormones transfer information and instructions from one set of cells to another.  The endocrine system includes the following glands, the hypothalmus, pineal body, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, heart, thymus, adrenal gland, kidney, pancreas, testes, and the ovaries.
